We have been supplying vehicle manufacturers and suppliers with specially designed aluminium components for decades. As innovation drivers for the automotive industry, we use our know-how to underpin two primary development goals:

 

 

 

 

• Depending on the application, B&T components can contribute to reducing vehicle weight, thereby helping to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, including CO2 emissions. At the same time, we deliberately exploit the qualities of the raw material, in order to improve the functional attributes of the end product in comparison with alternative materials like steel and plastics. Thanks to new procedures and new alloys, we are opening up additional application areas for the lightweight construction material, aluminium, in cars.
  
  
• Our PREXAL© precision forged procedure, allows us, for example, to reliably use aluminium extruded profiles for structurally loaded components such as coupling bars. For components directly exposed to salts and bases, we have developed a new alloy - CorResist© Extruded Profiles - in order to drastically reduce the occurrence of intergranular corrosion in harsh environmental conditions. Besides our experience in designing aluminium components, we also bring our manufacturing knowledge of high-quality, medium-sized and larger production quantities to this development-intensive area.
